Who we are
Bonnet Wise is a browser extension that gives used-car buyers a report on cars listed on AutoTrader UK. It is operated by LOS Digital Ltd, 11 Knightswick Road, Canvey Island, SS8 9PA, United Kingdom (company number 16212975). LOS Digital Ltd is the data controller and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration number ZC014273). For anything about your data, contact us at hello@los.digital. What we collect and why

We do not store the seller's advert text. It is used once, with phone numbers, email addresses and postcodes removed, to write your report summary. We never sell your data and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Kept only on your device
Some things never leave your browser except when you use them: the driver details you enter for an insurance estimate (age band, years of no-claims, postcode area such as "SW", mileage, whether you have points), your inspection checklist ticks and the last email you signed in with. Insurance details are sent to our server only to calculate an estimate and are not stored or logged. You can clear them with "Forget my details".
Who we share data with
We use these service providers (processors) to run Bonnet Wise:
- Supabase: account sign-in and our database.
- Cloudflare: hosting for our server.
- Stripe: payments. Stripe processes your card details; we never see them. Payments may be sold through Stripe's managed payments service, which handles VAT.
- DeepSeek: our AI provider. It receives the car's specification, the advert text with personal details removed, and your chat questions, to write report content and answers. DeepSeek processes data in China; see "International transfers".
- DVSA and DVLA (UK government): if you enter a registration, we look up the car's official MOT history and vehicle record.
International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK, including DeepSeek in China. Where a provider is in a country without UK adequacy regulations, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We minimise what is sent: never your email address, payment details or insurance details.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, reports and chats until you delete your account. Payment records are kept by Stripe for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Technical logs are kept for 60 days and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account yourself at any time: open the Bonnet Wise panel → Account → Delete my account. This permanently deletes your account, reports, chats and unused scans. If you have Pro, cancel it first so you are not charged again. To use any other right, email hello@los.digital.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Bonnet Wise is intended for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes, and tell you in the extension about significant changes.
